Pakistan and Pakistan Library Association (HQ) organized 17th All Pakistan
Library Association Conference 2007 at National Library Auditorium Islamabad..
Mr. Saleem Saifullah, Federal Minister for Provincial Coordination inaugurated
the Conference as Chief Guest. Libraries: Gateway to Sustainable Knowledge
and Democracy was the theme of Conference. More than 360 eminent LIS
professionals and Research Scholars from all over Pakistan and abroad
participated the Conference. The challenges and issues being faced by
the libraries and LIS professionals in 21st Century were discussed at
length in order to evolve strategies for improvement of Libraries and
their services.
